    Hi,

I have had my car for a little over a month and havent done a thing to it yet.. but yesturday I looked at my car and said to myself "Self, those stupid dealer plate frames look really bad on the car, go out and buy new frames already! "

So I went out and bought some new plate frames.. just plain black frames with the tinted platic that covers the license plate (I have a Graphite Grey Lancer). I installed them and they look really nice, they really toned down the white/light blue of the CT lisense plates and blended them in nicely to my car color (for $4 a piece they were worth every penny, lol).

    But heres the problem...

If anyone has taken off thier rear plates, they know that there are two cutouts in the bumber and there are two threaded metal clipes that you screw you bolts into.

Well, when I removed my plates, that the dealer put on the car while doing the paper work, I noticed that they only put one screw on the top and two screws on the bottom. After getting the plate off, I saw that the righthand threaded metal clip was not pushed in all the way, hence why they couldnt get the bolt to line up.

Instead of removing the one bolt they already screwed down on the left side and realigning the threaded metal clip on the right side, they proceded to take two self-tapping srews and put them into two bottom holes of the plate and into my bumper, creating two nasty looking holes where there shouldnt be any.

Now this really pisses me off... my nice brand-new $20,000 car has two holes in the bumper !! :x

Do you guys think I should go back and demand a new bumber or something, becuase even though I cant see it now that the plate is back on ( back on correctly cuase I took the 3 seconds to realign the second clip) it bothers the hell out of me that they did that to my new car.

What would you do?? Do you think I got a leg to stand on if I go in there demanding something?

Like Bras said take it back if it bothers you that much however, depending on your dealership, they might not own up to it and say that you did it yourself.

I wouldn't throw a fit or anything but you should definately make your thoughts known and discuss it with them. You know that if you walk away from the situation, you are going to think about it like crazy... Never hurts to ask! :)

Hey man, can you take a pic?

I actually have no idea what you're talking about. Dealers might vary how they do certain things from place to place. My rears.. there was just two holes for the top two screws. My front, weren't drilled.
