I was doing some searching on the interwebs for a complete plug and play turbo kit for us 7th gen Lancers. I'm sure this has already been done.

^these guys are the ones with the rear discs brake conversion as well. They have a stage 1, 2, and 3 turbo kit.
    $3305.63
    $3593.83
    $4347.29
They don't have any usable pictures of theres. Sorry

That's all I can find for the moment. Please feel free to let me know if you guys can find a site with a complete kit and I will add it to the list.

Or you can custom build one yourself.

It really pisses me off that no one except RRM has a kit for the 4g69....but its f-ing way too expensive

Go here asap. He has had this turbo manifold for the Garrett t3/t4 turbo.

After that you can steal anyone's turbo piping or buy the piping off eBay. And I assume you can tune everything yourself. Considering the 245 whp you have now.

I will be on the look out for a kit for you and update this thread.

But other than rrm, rpw makes a kit. But I don't think it comes with the piping. I'd buy the turbo mani from the dude on evom.net and start from there. The piping I found on ebay. Or you can go the rrm way and call them up and see if they can produce the 4g69 turbo manifold separately and go from there. You will most likely end up having to buy there 16G turbo to go with the mani. But after that you should be able to piece everything together. Only problem I can see is the install. No one has instructions for 04-06 Ralliart's that I have seen. I assume its very similar to either the evo or base lancer. I don't know how your engine sits. I've never bothered to look. But you have achieved with bolt-on's what us base lancers can only do with a turbo. You may have to add extra weight to your front end to accompany all that extra power so you aren't burnin rubber til 4th gear.

So I've decided that I am piecing a turbo together. Only problem is the piping and the 4G94 turbo manifold. I was thinking about gettin RRM's but theres looks a bit different than what I have seen. I was told to get the manifold from a 4G63 and mate it with the 4G94 flange. I am most likely going to get there turbo piggy back until I learn ECU flash.

Then she'll be like, "The F**K was that?!?" And you'll say, "I think I hit a cat. Oops, I think I keep hitting lots of cats." Good luck with it, bro. If you need any help or advice with anything you know what to do.

Does anyone know how much boost a 4G94 can handle? I talked to my mechanic and he advised against pairing a turbo with an engine not designed for one because the higher pressures and temperatures will shorten engine life.

That being said, I'm in a turbo thread so I don't exactly plan on following all of his advice.

9 PSI max. 10 would most likely melt the pistons and rods. To avoid that just buy forged pistons and rods from either road race motorsports or speedcorps.com You should be able to handle boost up to 17 psi with those. Road Race Motorsports also has a custom top half they sell for like $1500 I think that's the price. That will also help. They also sell the turbo kit which will boost 6-7 psi giving your about 50-65 more hp at the wheels.

But there is an alternative to that as well. You can put a 4g64 engine in your lancer and get the same gains and then you can turbo it afterwards and get up to 215 hp at the wheels. DO NOT CONFUSE THE 4G64 WITH THE 4G63. They are two completely different engines. The 4g63 will not fit what so ever. Many have tried and failed. But you can put the 4g63 head on the 4g64 bottom end and it will fit you just have to do some small tedious things such and timing. There is also another option.

There is a 4g93 dohc head we can put on our 4g94 engine and fix some timing issues and it should work. Then you can turbo that with any turbo kit made for the 4g94. You should make 200 whp with that. All those hp numbers are base numbers with the basic to for it to run in boost. They are not great tunes so you can run high amounts of boost.

Thanks Jogenmaru. I think when I get this done, I'll go with the forged pistons and rods route. Will I need a new crankshaft too?

    Jogenmaru Well-Known Member

Not really. You can use the same crankshaft. That's another optional upgrade. I havent seen or heard of anyone doing it since no one really boost past 10psi.

you can also put in the 4g69, straight built in from what i hear
