Car jerks under low rpm

So under low RPMs which aren't even that low, about 1800, the car will lurch. It won't be a smooth acceleration. I've already tried replacing the spark plugs and I'm now thinking that the coil packs may be the problem. Does anyone recommend anything? This is abnormal behavior and does not exhibit itself on any other manual vehicle I've driven.

my car will lurch but i just give it some more gas or put it in neutral. if im going that slow i am most likely about to stop.

check your wires... Mine just started doing it. happens mostly under load in first when first starting from a stop. I am gonna check to see if the wires are burnt or if my plug gap is too big. But i have a feeling it is one of those 2. if it is the coil you should be able to spray the coil down and get an arch.

Spray the coil down? I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, could you elaborate on that a little bit?

I did some driving last night and figured out exactly how to reproduce the issue. In 1st, nothing happens. In all other gears, halfway in between 1500 and 2000, I will feel the chugging and it sounds like it is happening at about 3 or 4 hertz. I will also gap them since I did not have a device to gap them with at the time. Usually they are fine when they are purchased so I didn't worry about it, but maybe not in this case.

Lancers have no power under 2.3k rpms. When I shift I always stay above 2k rpms just so I won't get that "lurch" feeling you are talking about. If you have intake and exhaust, you will need to get your car tuned. But I'm only speaking from personal experience. I don't remember what its like with everything stock. It's been a while so forgive me.

    0-17 1st gear
    18-32 2nd gear
    33-51 3rd gear
    51-62 4th gear
    63 and up 5th gear

If you are a conservative driver i would suggest

    0-15 1st gear
    15-27 2nd gear
    28-40 3rd gear
    40-55 4th gear
    55 and up 5th gear

Those were mph btw. I don't know the equivalent for kmh off the top of my head.

HAHA....those are mostly for him to try. I leave 2nd at 40. If I was zooming around 24/7 I don't leave my 4th gear until 83 mph.

Where is your rev limiter set too? My 7th gen tell me no at 6k. I know honda civics say no at 7k. You must be 7k like them evo's l2q?

The oem was about 62oo I think...When I did my tune, I upped it to 7k. The car starts to drop power around 67-68oo...so 7k seemed logical. lol

So has anyone actually replaced their coils and had the problem go away?
