Alright so I have the 2008 lancer, automatic transmission. Is it just me or did you guys realize that actually, our car is very slow. I got the car because of the looks, and ill admit, my lancer does turn heads. The only problem is I have no power to back it up. This makes me mad cause one of my best friends bought a 2004 GTO, 5.7L V8, and spent 5 grand less than me. He pushes 400 HP with all stock and automatic. Is there any way to get a 400 HP on this car of mine or am I just crazy and going to have to wait until I can get a new car. Now I know you got all those turbo kit, but our engine cant even handle that big of a turbo besides running maybe a 6 PSI boost without ruining the engine's lifespan. DILEMMA.
yes our cars are slow they are economical cars. Even with turbo it won't be a fast as a evo x. Don't think there is a way for our cars to reach 400HP without spending big amount of money, or engine swap. But its okay, its still a great looking car If you want power you should trade it in for something else.
enjoy the car for a couple years and save your money for an evo good thing about the lancers is that in 2 years it will be worth about 2k less if that. And in 2 years that GTO will be worth about 5k less lol

I agree. Plus you wont have to worry about rust in 3 years. You know, with the right parts, you can make ANY car fast. You'll just need to do a lot of internal engine rebuilding to "bullet proof" the engine from all that hp. Most engines that come out right from the show room dont have top quality stock internals. So plan on spending a TON of money to make an already SLOW car FAST. Your best bet is to save up for a car thats ahead of the game of most cars out there already, and dont waste your time on a base model Lancer.
no you are not crazy, just did not do your research...there are plenty of faster cars out there for the price of a new lancer. just remember, its a lancer not an evo. its a 4 door econo box and "rally inspired." not a rally car. you can always add neon lights, decals, hid and all that other non sense shit to make it look fast, but just be prepared to have your ass handed to you when race illegally on the street.
