Anyone have any experiences with AutoCityImports HID Conversion kits? I'm thinking about picking up the 8000k.

Is their kit good/reliable? Is it really plug and play?
Will I also need to get a bypass? I dont really mind if they work as the DRL/Low beams.
Would I need to change my headlamp housing to projectors?
What would be everything needed to complete the conversion?

Thanks in advance for any info you guys can give me.

I had an okay experience with them. I ordered 5k HID but they sent me 4300k. no big deal, installed them and didn't like them, so i just ordered 6k bulbs .
    Is their kit reliable? yes
bypass? yes you do get jrox bypass if you are using it for low beams, they will flicker like mad ;D don't try the ebay ones, tried and had bad experience
no you don't have to change to projectors to use hid kits

you don't have to by a DRL by-pass, all you need is a capacitor in your kit and it stops any flickering

While you may be correct, it really depends on if you'd still like to have control of your headlights. With the capacitor (anti-flicker kit), your lights will be ON 24/7. You can achieve the same effect by just turning on your Low Beams ON manually. In NJ, all aftermarket HID's are illegal. So it would be in one's best interest to at least have them OFF during the day. This is where the option of a DRL Bypass comes in.

With my DRL Bypass w/ Relay Harness properly installed, all lights will assume normal function:

Position 0 - All lights OFF, DRL's OFF
Position 1 - Parking lights ON, DRL's OFF
Position 2 - Parking lights ON, Low beams ON

With an anti-flicker kit (capacitor) installed:

Position 0 - LOW Beams ON
Position 1 - Parking lights ON, LOW Beams ON
Position 2 - Parking lights ON, LOW Beams ON
