I would have to say no because it is not structurally safe.

Yeah...I would highly recommend not doing this. Not to mention it would most likely be expensive. But, hey, if you got the money and that's what you really want to do, then more power to you. Good luck with what ever you do.

I dont think cutting a hole in a brand new car is a good idea, especially if you've never done it before...

Do not do this. If you drive an 02 Lancer then it is not safe. The whole car is dependant on each other. the roof supports the sides and bottom as the bottom supports the sides. If you cut a hole in your roof for this project you are going to need a lot of money to custom make a whole new chassis with a really strong bottom. Or you can get strut and sway bars. But I really say no to this idea. The bags maybe but maybe if it was an older model lancer like the 96 would it even look ok. I've said yes to some crazy things before like the 4g63 and 4g69 swaps and the Lancer AWD conversion but this will be really bad on the chassis of your vehicle.

I deem this unsafe and to not be done. But if your insistant than do what you want. But once its done your stuck with the car. No dealer would buy that unless it looks 100% OEM (factory made).

This has to be the first idea like this that I've heard, at least you thought of something different. props on thinking outside the norm but I'd agree to keep some radical plans just thoughts instead of unsafe mods done.
