Alright guys how's its going. My name is Mayson, and I'm proud to introduce my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition. I'm going to have to come up for a name for her haha, for now she will be known as, Eve.

    Let's get into it.

Installed "Super Bright LED's" interior dome, and trunk dome lights. This is always one of the first things I do to a new car, it drastically improves how nicely it lights up at night. So here's a recent mugshot, but you can really see how bright these damn things are.

Next up, when I got the car it had a horrible idle fluctuation and acceleration stutter. Here's what I found. All four plugs were filled to the top with oil, burnt through the porcelain, and had massive erosion on the gaps.

New Fel-Pro valve cover gasket kit.

And she runs like a top.

    On the way:
    > New Alternator.
    > Carbon Fiber Vortex Generator.
    > TWM Short Shift Kit.

Glad she's running better. Oil on top of the plugs is old tube seals not seating on the valve cover. There are two gasket kits for the 2.0 and 2.4..one with tube seals and one without...yours come with tube seals?

Yup yup new oil tube seals. Made sure to put some red lithium grease on the mating surfaces to make sure they got a perfect seal. But before I installed everything I cleaned all the surfaces with acetone. So I should no longer have any problems.

I made the mistake up not greasing valve seals on my Honda before. Live and learn. But the more I work on this the more ideas I get for things to do to it.

Check out superbright. Working on the car between breaks. Putting the new alternator on. Already broke a bolt too -.- but its no problem we got titanium hardware ;)

Edit: all finished. Didnt even need to jack it up. Shouldnt have anymore problems for a while.

Going to have to wait till next week to actually order my twm short shift kit. But! Got that VG on the way. Cleaned the hell out of the interior I swear it's never been cleaned before.

Going to finish all of the little crap on this and get it squared away... Like this damn P0456... Or was it P0345? Some emissions crap haha. ANYWAYS!! I'm actually getting the urge to do more work than expected to this car.

Wish I knew how to delete my own posts so I'm not posting consecutively but here is a clean shot of the car. Who wants to buy it haha.

Well, I did just install my VG last night during my break, I'll try to get a picture later on today. Nightshift is brutal.

    As for the list
    > Rust repair, its getting out of hand
    > fix the drivers door handle
    > scuff and re clear coat
    > new power steering pump... Yup that took a crap
    > new belts
    > brakes all around, would be nice to do a rear disc swap
    > DDM Tuning HID kit, maybe an OEM look blacked housing headlights
    > TSM short shift kit
    > K&N short ram intake
    > Thermal R & D stainless catback

    annnnnnd

    > Road Race Motorsports piggyback ECM

I'm not a dreamer, all of these things will slowly fall into place. I got the money, just have to find the time. But if I get a reasonable offer I will sell it.

But after this list it wont be getting many other mods.

Looks great! I should take a page from your book & make a list.... sometimes I feel like I'm all over the place. I know what I want to do, know what I'm going to do but never get to it. Either I never order my parts or I'm indecisive. Sometimes too much info on these forums & too many varying opinions.

So far you're doing a good job. Much respect!

How do you plan on dealing with the rust?

I have a few years experience with autobody. Nothing outstanding but im going to remove the plastics, grind down the rust. Use POR-15. Putty if needed, shouldnt be much. And I know a company that mixes oem paint in aerosol cans. Paint it. Scuff it. Clear it.

Nice man, I gave up my previous car, a 2001 Mirage for rust issues. It was costing too much to repair. With your experience I'm sure you will do well. Keep it going.
