Well, me and my father in law got the two front struts off and they are both shot. So we put the stock springs back on and that was that. Ordered Monroe struts today from advance auto since autozone is shitty and doesn't even carry lancer es struts. So here are some pics anyway lol

That sucks. But, you never really know the true condition of your parts until you take the car apart and have everything separated. It happened to me with that damn front spring cap and bearing....

I don't even wanna know what shape mine are in. Lol. Hopefully your new ones come in soon and you can get everything replaced.

We didn't even take off the rears thats how bad we thought they were. but the front driver side piston was leaking and we could pull the piston up and down with no problem. the left side wasn't leaking, but the piston pulling was just as loose. so hopefully this gets done by next weekend. At least i'll know the struts won't shit on me as quick now :D

I have a question, the bump stop thats on the struts, doesn't even look close to the one thats supposed to be cut in the pics in the tein directions, I really wanna do this right and cut the right parts, so can anyone show me pics of theirs cut possibly?

I just used the OEM stops...and cut those. The ones that came with my KYB's looked identical, but the OEM ones weren't cracking and still really firm....so I just used them. I'll see if I can get pics without getting the car up in the air...

were you ever able to get those pics man? if not its alright :D

    but anyways heres an update,

I ordered new struts saturday, the two came in today and the other two, well the dude at advance instead of ordering me rear struts, he ordered rear strut mounts by MOOG. I told this guy I wanted all four new struts, people never seem to listen clearly. but when i showed up today, i told them the order was wrong, so they gave me my monroe front struts, we returned the rear mounts, they gave me a 10% discount on some KYB GR2 rears which were 96 originally, so i got em for the same price as the monroes that advance doesn't even have in their national warehouse for a 03 es lmao.

These struts will be in actually when advance opens, so im heading there early, getting the struts and hopefully getting this f'ing car DROPPED!!

The car is lowered...... In the front. And this is the reason why rear isn't done. The bolts in the drivers side strut and knuckle are seized, so I had to leave my lancer at my father in laws shop. I can't work on it tomorrow, I have my sister in laws college graduation at butler university. So Sunday or Monday it should be done.

We have decided that were gonna try to heat the bolts first and knock em out. If that doesn't work, were going to cut the strut bolt on both sides of the bushing so we can at least get the strut out without having to cut the knuckle bolt and have more problems.

So here are some awesome before and after pics of the front and what not. :D

Looking good. Now for some 16's. And your set. The rears for me were the easiest. It was the first ones I did because my fronts were seized.

Really? lol the fronts took me 20 mins to do. I also decided not to cut the bumpstops, I figure with the driving I do now, I never hit anything harsh so I think I'll be fine

Hey!! I have two of those in my trunk....still haven't taken them out since I did my drop. I ordered 2 front struts and 2 rear shocks, and was sent 2 struts and 4 shocks. When I called and told them, they said " Oh...our bad. If you can use them, just keep them."

As for the rears....mine were a lot easier than the front also. Took the sway bar off, dropped everything, and slid the new shits up in there. The longest part was putting all the mounting hardware on the new shocks....

GET SOME FLAT BLACK RATTLE CAN TO SPRAY YOUR WHEEL WELLS....and yes, that was yelling....I'm sorry for yelling...

    Update!

The car is finished and the drop feels great! The springs have settled a little. I haven't hit very many bumps yet to know how well the bump stops are handling since I haven't cut them. As for the seized bolt, we just heated it up and beat the shit out of it till it broke loose. The bolt was still good so we used it instead of replacing it. For doing this install with little help, it was very fun to do. I learned a lot about suspension with this install. But anyhow, heres pics of the lancer. I'll get more in the next few days.

there are some pics of the drop, so far it feels great. The car is getting felt up by someone other than me right now :(, shes getting aligned, I asked the dude to check my tie rods as well while he had the car, so hopefully my car will come back aligned and not shaking at 70 mph lol
