Yea I had to change the one from the OZ. I hated the white background with orange/red lighting. It was hard to read at night. With the blue gauges it is soooo much easier to read. Although it was blinding at first, I adjusted. You can also adjust the darkness and light with the gauge overlays. It was well worth the upgrade.

On a side note, I hate having a 5 speed. Everytime i want to go into 6th gear when I hit 70 mph. But it doesnt happen. Oh well.

Jog, did you switch out your coilovers just on jack stands? I'm wondering because when I do mine, I figured that it would be insanely difficult to take out my struts >1ft of space.

Also, I was watching the RRM videos for when they did their video of switching stock springs on stock struts to lowering springs on stock struts, they didn't use spring compressors, they just had an extra person push down on the top hat while the other impacted the bolt back on top? Just asking for your opinion on how to go about it

Well with those coilovers they came with top hats so I had no problem there. But I just used my hydraulic jack and had it on a flat surface when I did the rears. The fronts are by far the hardest part to change. The 2 bolts on the knuckle that connect the strut to the control arm are harder than hell to remove. Mostly because of the 127 lbs of torque on them. The rears were very easy. When you do the fronts get 2 big bricks and put them in front and behind your rear tires. I didnt have jack stands available at the time but I would have to say they are a safety must. When you change out the rears you have to jack up the car from the sides under the rear doors closest to the wheels. There isnt a spot in the back to safely jack up the whole car.

As for the lowering springs on stock struts, spring compressor is highly recommended. Not unless you have friends like the rrm guys. The only real issue I came across other than those 4 bolts in the front would be removing the rear struts. It was a challenge for me because I have a rear sway bar that came factory. I ended up having to break the endlinks (i think thats what they are. I will take a picture and show you) just to move the rear control are down because it was bound up to prevent moving a lot.

I can make a how to for you on my next day off GameStop. I think I dont go in until 5 pm this saturday. I can show you how then. I also, have to adjust my rear drivers spring. So this serves as a double purpose. Also, you dont have the rear sway bar. Only the oz's came with it. Then later the ralliart. So that step you can actually omit.

Well I really appreciate you taking time to make a how-to in regards to my question. As for the spring compressor, I'll probably just borrow one from autozone. My friend's parents has a lift in their garage so I could very well have my job easy. I was just asking you how your coilover install went since you didn't have a lift. I'm really hoping this turns out well. Thanks a bunch jog

did you get the bride boot from ebay? i looked at some on there and didnt know if they would fit

No I didn't. I got it from a user on another forum. And you have to make it fit. Its just. Replacing the boot that's there. Its really thick compared to the crappy leather one that comes with the car. So it will tough getting it on. Its a pretty easy job. Outta 10 being the hardest this job was a 3. Its just time consuming. It took me about 30 for the whole job. Most of it was trying to get the new bride boot on because its really thick.

^^ Disengage the switch on the clutch pedal, and put in a neutral safety switch. Thought about doing this a few years ago when it was a really cold winter...never did.

Ha..yeah, its the little push-style sensor on the floorboard behind the clutch lever...towards the dash. You should be able to simply unplug it, ro splice the wires together....I think I may bypass mine...its been acting up lately. push in the clutch, nothing...release and push again and it'll crank. I'm gonna have to check when I get home and see how many wires it is and I'll let ya know...

Its 2 wires. For some reason when I unplugged it, its easier to puch my clutch in now. Lol. But I have to pull the carpet on the drivers side to hide some wires today. Its still not hook up all the way but it got the main harness connected. It should have been easy but the directions lied. This particular system was made for all cars. So it has 2 ignition wires cuz for some reason there are cars out there that have two ignition switches in the key switch. But anyway it told me to use the purple wire for the 1st ignition switch. Our cars only have one so it was pretty straight forward. Cut this main wire and connect one end to the first violet wire and the scond violet wire connect to the key switch.

No go. It took my over 8 hours to realize that the violet wire was not the primary ignition wire but the secondary. The white wire that is said to be the secondary is really the primary. So that's all hooked up now. But then I run into another dilemma. The car diagram says that I need these colors for my unlock and lock switch. Well after looking at the door harness for 2 hours I saw the cables they were refering to. Its the cables coming from the door and not the ones leading to the door. So now I have to take off my door to get to these wires. After disconnecting it from the harness on the inside of the cabin. And before you ask, there is no room for me to splice the wires while its in the cabin because there isn't enough slack in the wires to pull it. So I have to do that. This better be an easy job for the rest.

I also, have to figure out which wire is the tachometer on the obd 2 port. For the auto start to work. All in the days work. I shoulda just saved up the $400 and payed invius to do it. Next time I know.
