Despite the last few Fast and the Furious movies being somewhat fun but ultimately pointless and forgettable (I still really dig the first one), at least they’re making an attempt to freshen up things with Fast Five. A lot of familiar faces from the franchise are returning, including Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris. We also have some new (heavily-muscled) blood thrown in the mix, in the form of Dwayne Johnson. Clearly the plot of these Fast & Furious movies aren’t all that important and certainly aren’t what fans flock to the theaters for. But all movies need a plot and we finally get a look at the official one for Fast Five today. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in Fast Five. In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first. Expected release date is going to be June 10, 2011........
I'm excited to see this one. They are honestly beating the F&F thing to death, but hey there aren't enough car movies out.
GREATTTTTTT..."Finallllllly the Rock has come to Fast and the Furious 5 cuz I really SSSSSUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK" but unfortunately, i will drop my cash and watch this...maybe i can get my black civic with green neon lights out of stotage...
This movie was filmed in Puerto Rico and some people are pissed because of the traffic situation it has caused since most of the filming that was done in PR was in the metro area which is super busy. I heard some guy say "worst of all is that the movie will probably suck"
Personally I can't wait, I liked the series except the 2nd one, and Tokyo Drift has actually grown on me (heh, it was on this weekend). And the reason Sean (the kid) isn't in this one, is cause this movie still takes place BEFORE Tokyo Drift, since Han is alive and in this movie. So technically Tokyo Drift is the last movie of the series if they don't do anymore after this. I really don't think they have milked the franchise, so far all the movies (even the 2nd one), have all had pretty fresh story lines, which I could say isn't actually true of the first film. But, WOW even Vince is coming back, actually wondered what happened to him after getting his arm torn up and airlifted out of the story. I could see him saying, 'See Dom, I told ya the buster was a F'ing Cop".
And if Vin Diesel wasn't going to be able to get it done, they brought in The Rock. Any movie with The Rock is good.......
What was wrong with the 'The Game Plan' sure it was a kids movie. But it was funny and light-hearted. You forget Vin Diesel has done these movies too... remember 'The Pacifier'. Which wasn't that bad either for a family movie. Oh, and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, with Diesel is also moving forward. I just want another Riddick, which there are 2 more planned. Since Pitch Black is a prequel to the Riddick Chronicles Trilogy. How many other actors have multiple movie franchise? i.e. 3 movie series.
