Salvage 06 Lancer ES Build Thread

Well I think it would be worth it to sell it for like an 04-06 manual Ralliart but not for just a manual Lancer. At least then you have a little more power and curve appeal.

 

Looks good, but like you said since it's a salvage title, you might not get too much for it. Is it worth doing anything else to it? Not really, but it's not worth doing anything to any car. All cars are money pits, but we still do it. It's definitely not worth it, but we'll continue to dump money into them. Lol. Just how things go. But yes, I'd say buy a stick Ralliart, or save a bunch for an Evo.

 

He can do both those options or he can put some more dough into it and get rid of the 4g94 engine and swap it out with the 4g64 engine(99 galant and eclipse NOT evo). Get more power and aftermarket parts for it to be quick.

The engine swap will cost around 2.8 grand if you do it yourself and if you have the job done by a tech then add another grand. Seems worth it to me to make another 50hp and if you turbo then expect even better gains. Cosmetic upgrades are very nice too. You can make a show car with a lancer.

 

i feel you man. ive thought the same thing bout mine. wish i did a lil bit more research before gettin my first car but hey we learn from mistakes right? and dont get me wrong i love my lancer but one of the down side, you cant really get to much hp out of the lancer like you can an evo. in my opinion i would sell it and get either a honda or s13/s14. both options have lots of potential and a vast number of parts for cheap. but thats just my own opinion

 

2800? i dont think its that much, you can get the engine and tranny for about 1300. and thats with most the things you need. but either way, if you plan on selling your car and get money out of it, leave the stock motor in it or lse youll lose even more money due to youll sell it less without the original motor. but if you want a fast car, you really are better off getting a different car.

but id rather have my slow lancer than most cars any day ;]
