I found a deal on a new little project for myself. 98 Eclipse GS, 106k miles, no leaks, drives great, dosen't smoke. It does need a few things, as you can see....but I figured for 275 bucks, it'll make a decent little time waster. That's right $275.oo...clear title in hand....drove it right to the courthouse and got it registered, and then home. I know that I'm going to get the exhaust reworked...very raspy right now. Then, i figured I would work on the visual stuff...front crash bar and bumper, sideskirts, get rid of that terrible wing, etc. So, what you guys think...??
I'm keeping the Lancer...actually have new wheels coming in today (supposedly)....I just bought this to tinker with b/c I think this latest transformation of the R/A is gonna be the end of modding her, except for new paint down the road.

Haha...I know man...I might take you up on it. Maybe. But since I'll be done modding the R/A soon, I need something to tinker with since my wife won't let me get another bike... Tell me about it. I bought it from a lady that was parked next to me at the wonderful Wal-Mart. I was throwing my groceries in my trunk when she said that she was selling the eclipse that she bought for her son last year, because he wasn't doing too hot in a couple of classes. So I dropped off my groceries, picked up my neighbor, and went to look at it. I couldn't help to laugh my ass off when I first saw it, but when she told me she wanted 250 for it....all I could ask was "where's the motor?" She said that it ran perfectly, and only had an intake and a welded on fart can for a muffler....everything else on and in the motor is stock. As for everything else....its a little list of mods. fiberglass hood, fenders, rear bumper shaved door handles with remote poppers gigantic wing...for downforce chrome 18's (don't remember the brand) JVC head unit JVC component set up front JVC 6x9's in the rear short shifter Dropzone coilovers I think that's it..... I told her that i'd pay more for it, but she refused anything over 275....lol
nothing....ha. My niece is driving it until she gets her car fixed. shouldn't be too much longer though...
do yourself a favor if you ever want to turbo it or get any major power out of it and sell it and get a gst or a gsx you'll appreciate it better but good luck regardless !!!
Yeah, I had a 95 GS-T a few years back. Sold it to my old roomate b/c his ex wife got both the cars that were in his name. Lol
I was originally gonna get an eclipse instead of a lancer. It was the same year with 10k less miles and $4k cheaper. Then I looked at my driving recored and thought on it for 2 weeks. But now that my record is for the most part 4 years clean and supposedly auto insurance has gotten a lot cheaper in VA I may just go get one or most likely a wrx. But if the car payment is the same as the evo then Im gonna be stuck on another 2 week decision.
