Hi all, i'm trying to figure something out and hoping theres people out there that have some knowledge that I could use! Basically I want to install a K&N Intake # 69-6544TS . It's for 08-09 Lancers, 2.0/2.4L . I figured if it works for the 2.4L 09 engine, it would be fine for my 2010 model... K&N has responded to me, after asking if it would work, saying that it would not work/"Currently, we do not have a performance intake kit available for the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.4L GTS. We are looking for a vehicle to check fitment and performance" So I dont know that it wouldnt work, it just seems that they have not tested it yet. Does anyone know if there are differences between the 09/10 engine that would cause a problem? Or perhaps any differences that might not let the intake fit properly? OR even better, does anyone have this intake installed on a 2010 Lancer GTS. Thanks!!
i sure hope they notice this thread then! otherwise, If I don't go for the K&N 69-6544TS intake, does anyone have the Injen 1838P intake? That is the other possibilty. I really wanted the K&N, but i dont wanna mess around with it if it hasnt been tested i supose

I actually helped him with that issue... There really was no problem. The bracket that came with the K&N is for the 09+, and was not needed on the 08, which lead to his confusion. Also as far as I know there is no difference with the 09 and 10 2.4L, and it should work no problem.
thanks for the info, yeah it seems like i wouldnt have that bracket issue with my 2010 GTS. I just picked it up today! Everything seems identical to the 2009 engine, so i dont expect any problems, i'll update how it goes!
hey, the install went pretty well. however, if you've ead the above link about the bracket issue, i believe i also had that issue... basically i couldnt find where to install the mounting bracket that holds the intake tube steady... so right now its just vibrating around a bit, which irratates me, but it doesnt seem to be falling off so far. but i really want to get a mounting bracket on it to make it more solid... so in that link above, people said K&N delivered a replacement bracket, so I supose I will email them and see if i can get it as well. Let me know if you are able to install the mounting bracket no problem, maybe I just was looking in the wrong spot to bolt it onto the engine. besides that, very happy with the product. Feel a small pick up in the acceleration, definitely a huge growl over 3000 RPM or with hard acceleration
